One local restaurant owner stopped his car while driving by one day to tell me he and his wife went and had a ball. So many people asked me to take them or asked me exactly where it was. I question the managment's decision on this one. Nothing wrong with that - filling a club on a Friday night. I was told that Elaine Lancaster and Adora, the performers, had people coming to the Grove from South Beach, just to see their shows.
So many people in town told me they went and enjoyed it or that they planned to go and couldn't wait. I heard it was too expensive, that they didn't want to be known as a gay bar and that there were complaints (I don't believe that last one), but it's a shame that some of the funky that makes the Grove the Grove is now gone. Shame, it was the only thing that made them different. Eleven Leprechauns did away with the drag shows.
